KK's rugelah is a disappointment. The exterior pastry is very crumbly while the interior of each tightly rolled piece is rather doughy. The filling is very finely ground and overly sweet. Each piece is very large and unwieldy to consume without first cutting it in half. KK's rugulah is a far cry from the traditional walnut rugelah I know, each piece of which is usually much smaller; the filling is more coarsely ground, not so sweet and usually includes golden raisins; and the pastry is not rolled so tight and is crisp throughout.
